Today’s musing is on the tapestry that is our life, and that is our lives collectively.

I study and practice the Yamas and Niyamas, Sanskrit, for restraints and observances in yoga. They are the tenets of living well within yogic philosophy. One of the restraints or Yamas is Brahmacharya — which can be strictly defined as “chastity” or loosely translated as “non-excess,” but what it literally means is “walking with God.”

So, why do I practice walking with God, and what does that have to do with mindfulness?

The point of walking with Source is to invite ourselves to tinker with the idea that everything is energy and that all is sacred. Our life is sacred, an ants life is sacred, and everything in between is sacred.

Walking with God allows us to become aware of the great tapestry that is our life and to experience this tapestry as a magic carpet ride, all the while knowing we are not only upon the carpet, we are intrinsically woven into it.

And that is my topic for today — the interwoven and orchestrated aspect of life and our participation within that life.

Practicing Walking with Source Energy (God)

By walking through our days with wonder and awe at how magnificently laid out all of it is, we begin to notice how we are being ushered through life, and we not only sense the magic, we start to feel it and see it in everything we do.

This past weekend my husband and I were traveling, and there was an instance that had me grinning ear to ear. I had gone in search of my coveted beverage shortly before the boarding process began. This boarding process is one of those where you line up by a specific group, A, B, or C, and then by a particular number within that boarding group. The line for the beverage was long, but I checked in with the energy and knew it would move along quickly enough so that I would be back in time. I didn’t fret and didn’t worry; I just trusted that my experience would afford me enough time for a cup of hot water.
