Fly Into Your Day

With Perseverance and Compassion

I am a bit tired and beleaguered today, yet I choose and want to sit down to muse on freedom and how awareness is the first step to all of the freedom we seek. As I begin to write, a fly appeared in my workspace and began crawling about my desk. Noticing it out of the corner of my eye, I just ignored it at first then it proceeded to meander closer, keeping only a slight distance, yet not fully acting as a fly normally behaves……like, you know, actually flying in and around the space. Annoyed, by this seemingly also beleaguered insect, I gently shooed it away and then I realized perhaps this fly energy had something to say to me this morning. So as I often do I referred to Siri, and asked what the spiritual meaning of today’s writing companion means. Siri brought up a few options, all of which spoke to perseverance.

Fly Meaning and Messages

Much like the Butterfly, Fly symbolism lets you know that quick and abrupt changes in your thoughts, emotions, and endeavors are afoot. Moreover, these rapid changes in all aspects of your life are happening now. Therefore, move quickly, even in unfavorable and uncomfortable conditions. Similar to the Rabbit, Fly meaning can also signify that an exponentially growing source of abundance is available for you right now. Thus this spirit animal dictates that you must use your keen eyesight to see the way.

In other words, never give up.

Hmmm, interesting for sure, and as I am lacking the get-up and go I normally have, this message lands and resonates. It is resonant that when I am tired and when I am digesting something (like the grief of a world gone mad), I may not have the energy for all that my “business” or my “life” represents, and since I do not rely on “just do it” energy any longer, but also have unresolved “keep moving” energy at foot, I can easily become overwhelmed, and want to give up on the day completely. The lethargy is not due to being unrested, underfed, or overworked, it comes from being in alignment with my egos GET IT DONE energy and out of alignment with my Source and Prana.

The message from Mr. Fly helps by simply allowing me to entertain the idea that rapid changes are happening throughout my life right now. (I mean, I can't imagine that is a huge stretch of an idea for all of us)

Letting the reality that we have a lot happening, and therefore a lot to digest, have a place in our hearts, brings back our sense of compassion, peace, and freedom. We can suddenly feel calmer and less task-driven and ironically energy returns.

By giving ourselves what we need, which is compassion, and space to be exactly as we are, we release all of the life force within.

“If you talk to the animals they will talk with you
and you will know each other. If you do not talk to them
you will not know them, and what you do not know
you will fear. What one fears one destroys.”
~Chief Dan George

As I sit here, writing about a fly, instead of freedom, I know that you might also have life showing up fast and furious and that you may have self-made pressures asking you to “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” and to work harder. I invite you to, take a breath and join me in listening to Fly spirit, and reclaim yourSelf with all of its promise, messiness, and beauty.

Let’s keep our eye on the prize of freedom; let’s persevere in our work of awareness; intention, and inspired action; let’s invite creation and the creative energy in, and henceforth feel liberated from the status quo of just getting things done.

THANK YOU FLY!
